At long last palladium can now be hallmarked. It has been a long time coming, but this is a welcome development, as it confirms palladium’s status as a precious metal, and it should differentiate it in the mind of the public from base metals such as titanium.

Palladium is a less expensive alternative to platinum, especially for mens wedding rings. It is naturally white (unlike white gold) and does not require rhodium plating, and it is also very tough and hardwearing. It is less dense, so therefore lighter than platinum.
